I´ve tried to booting without the quiet and usplash, but it goes to same
blank screen after loading Ubuntu.

I´ve reseted the Xserver booting (using grub) from the menu list "recovery
mode" (I guess this is the name)
with the commands below, that I´ve got in launchpad bugs:
'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg'
choosed fglrx --> module screen glx and dri
After this Ubuntu started ok.
But after I´

I´ve restarted the X using the command dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg, and
selected the options fglrx, and
module screen glx and dri.
After that downloaded and installed the ati-driver-installer-8.28.run.
And since that day, everything was ok.

Last month I have an issue like this, and I resolved that using the
lastest version of Gparted Live CD.
I guess that Gparted in Ubuntu Live CD doesn´t recognize the NTFS
partitions, so try to do this, download from this link (Gparted in
Sourceforge)

Sorry, I forgot another parameter. I´m using dual boot (GRUB) in this
computer (Windows XP and Ubuntu Feisty Fawn).

I have this problem too. I´m using an Athlon 64 3000+ with an ATI Radeon
9200, with ATI open source driver, and every time I try to start Ubuntu,
the black screen appears. To resolve this, I need to boot in Recovery
Mode, and reconfigure the xorg.conf. But, everytime time I do this
Ubuntu starts ok
