My computer: HP 530
Processor: Intel Celeron M CPU 530 @ 1.73GHz
Graphic card: Intel 945GME x86/MMX/SSE2
I upgraded my Ubuntu installation in May:
* from 12.10 (kernel version: 3.5.0-28-generic)
* from 13.04 (kernel version: 3.8.0-19-generic)
(I believe that those were the
FWIW:
When I start with 3.8.0-27-generic in safemode, and then start using failsafeX,
it sort of works:
It's really slow, the screen now uses 1024x768, and there are visual bugs. But
I get graphics.
Example of visual bugs:

...and after having started in recovery mode - failsafeX, now using the
normal 3.8.0-27 *does* work for me!
Doing those things to get it to work is of course really annoying...
Are others affected by the same bug? I'll leave it to you to decide

black screen.

You
I managed to reproduce the problem you encountered once, Marcus.
I've found an easier way to reproduce my problem - that works (i.e.
crashes Nautilus) almost every time for me:
Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to an empty desktop area (or empty the current one, or just minimize all
windows)
2. Hold
I have had this problem at least since 9.04, probably 8.10 too (and made
a clean install somewhere along the way I think).
I really do think there should be a better way to do this than using the
command line! I'd suggest some extension to the system manager or
separate program (installable by
