The problem is solved. It wasn't really iputils-tracepath that was the
problem, it was the dependency to traceroute. I discovered this message
that must remain from a restore earlier this year:
update-alternatives: error: the alternative link /usr/bin/traceroute6 is
already handled by traceroute6.
Everytime I run the update manager I get the following complaints:
