running gstreamer-properties and setting the devices to autodetect did
not help in my case. what did help was to delete the file ~/.pulse-cooke
and the directory ./~pulse.
after all it seems this problem was pulse related. (rhythmbox stopped
working, so i really had to fix this bug. and totem work
i'm affected by the same bug, i haven't tested yet what happens when
booting with killswitch on/off, but will do today afternoon.
my laptop is the dell precision m4300 which has exactly the same
hardware as a latitude d620.
turning bluetooth on/off work fine though

brightness OSD is working since recent updates – at least when on battery,
couldn't test with AC plugged in yet.
x-brightness applet still has some problems getting correct brightness level,
but that is low priority i'd say

having the same problem here. oddly enough it only shows in the list of
wireless networks in networkmanager.
once i connect to a network, it shows the signal strength correcty in systray
(but still not in the list)
network monitor obviously reports the correct value (same as in systray)

dmidecode gives me "Dell Inc." but the latest kernel update hasn't fixed this
issue.
i'm on a dell precision m4300 here
another issue that might be related is, that everytime i try to switch
to a VT it jumps back to X after one second – switching then again to VT
works.
