I've run Gparted from Ubuntu 9.04 64bit live disc in the same machine where I had the problem, and now it's simply OK: resizing/move/create/delete partitions, all the stuff works as it should. You believed right, it has been fixed. Thank you Evan for your interest and the time spent. Cheers.
