I found the right packages to downgrade in order to work around the
problem and still allow curl and virtualbox to work. Drew Snellgrove,
you may be interested in this. I run a 64-bit distribution, and these
packages did it for me:
libcurl3-nss_7.21.6-3ubuntu3_amd64.deb
