It's very easy to see the impact. Anyone interested needs only to visit the forum website, and search for threads "Ubuntu upgrade destroyed my windows". Yes, that's the publicity that ubuntu is getting. That it's destroying windows. If that's fine for the ubuntu team Erick, who am I to complain??

I can confirm this is working with Tenda W311U 150Mb usb adapter. The chip reported by lsusb is actually 148F:3070 which would mean Ralink RT3070 but since I had no patch for RT3070 driver I decided to use 2009_0820_RT2870 driver and the patch supplied by Bryan. I blacklisted rt2800usb and also

UPDATE: I updated to the latest BIOS for my Gigabyte MA78G-DS3H ver1.0 but it didn't help. 9.10 live environments still reboots before the desktop shows up. Before the BIOS update I downloaded 8.04 LTS to see it will go. The live environment runs fine, you can see the desktop and work in it. Haven
