That´s exactly the point: making it better and trouble free for non-experienced
users. This is about making ubuntu easy to use and accepted by them.
If we start thinking that the user should know what is a disk, what a partition
and what to select, going by the same logic should we drop t
PS. By the way I am still trying to help the person in the mentioned above
thread to get XP working again. He thinks he lost XP completely together with
all of his important files. The first repair attempts were unsuccessful.
But I guess nobody cares about that too.

The user did nothing wrong, but having wubi and grub2 overwriting his

restarting my desktop with integrated HD3200 any more. I am able to run
the Try Ubuntu mode now on the desktop, without modifying or changing
anything in the menu options. Good work.

I can confirm this is working with Tenda W311U 150Mb usb adapter. The chip
reported by lsusb is actually 148F:3070 which would mean Ralink RT3070 but
since I had no patch for RT3070 driver I decided to use 2009_0820_RT2870 driver
and the patch supplied by Bryan.

Update: Kubuntu 9.10 x64 can install and run successfully. This ACPI_PSS
error seem to be connected with BIOS which the Ubuntu team has no
control over, but it's not only that.
Why would Kubuntu install and run and Ubuntu not? Does this help isolate
the "problem"?

Hello. I have the same problem ACPI_PSS bug is not letting me run live
environment or installation of 9.10 or 9.04. I downloaded 8.04 LTS just
to test and that runs fine.

UPDATE: I updated to the latest BIOS for my Gigabyte MA78G-DS3H ver1.0
but it didn't help. 9.10 live environments still reboots before the
desktop shows up.
Before the BIOS update I downloaded 8.04 LTS to see it will go. The live
environment runs fine, you can see the desktop and work in it. Haven

I have problem with ACPI_PSS too. I have Gigabyte MA78G-DS3H with 780G.
I am first time Ubuntu user and waited for the 9.10 release. Downloaded
