choppy/skipping login sound.

Sound plays normally via other applications after initial login.

Attempted to boot into Live session of Intrepid Ibex (daily: 10/19/08)
on Averatec 3700 laptop. Display driver would not load where it did a
few days ago when testing. Was able to use safe mode and get the
attached log file.
It looked like the driver was about to initialize
The best workaround I've found for this in Firefox is to go "Edit"-->
"Preferences"-->"Content"-->"Advanced JavaScript Settings"--> uncheck
"Allow scripts to move or resize existing windows".
This is something that we "shouldn't" have to do. But it prevents the

Re-opening this bug as I still have it. I'm running a fully patched
Hardy system.

I found a workaround! (courtesy of prinknash on ubuntuforums)
Follow it word for word (cut the text.. Apply command change.. paste
the text.. Apply command change)

I've done all of the updates to Hardy and I can't report the positive
outcome that you have. This bug seems rather elusive but not uncommon.
I've read multiple threads on ubuntuforums.org which report the same
issue.
There's a bunch of people that I would like to upgrade to Hardy but I

corruption is gone. But now if I "Unmaximize" the window I get what
would be best described as a "fluttering" effect with the titlebar.
This never happened before. Can anyone else confirm that?

Tried this on multiple computers with both LiveCD and installed systems.
The resulting comparison between Gutsy and Hardy is the same as I
indicated in the original report above. No hostname.

One day I noticed that when I ping my Hardy machine (wired) from a Windows
