I have installed Kubuntu 13.04 on a system with this hardware:
ASUS P8Z77-M Pro mother-board
i5-3550 CPU with integrated HD Graphics 2500 (Intel Corporation Ivy Bridge
Graphics Controller (rev 09))
16GB RAM
1600x1200 DVI monitor (LG L2000C)
1920x1080 HDMI
I just managed to re-create this in a new install of ubuntu desktop, but fixed
it following the instruction from bug 675068:

I've come here from Bug #636764 via google as this exactly describes the
problem I have, but I have version 0.0.13 of indicator-appmenu and
shotwell windows still closes itself. I don't see this in other
programs. Can anyone advise please?

I have the same Motherboard but my install doesnt work with the
graphical installer, it installs grub onto the wrong hard drive. I have
been using the text installer and manually setting grub to install on
the MBR of hda and it installs but it thinks that my hda drive is really
