This is definitely a problem on my Dell Latitude D620. Moving the finger diagonally over the touch pad makes the mouse cursor move about 1/4th of the screen's total diagonal length. Very annoying. Also, it seems to mistake some movements as mouse clicks. I need to press firmly with the finger to a
