border, it is simply a delimiter for the image, something which you can
only see when an image has transparency on it's edges. I have tried
printing and I'm not able to see the border in the printed or PDF

I think I just found a bug having to do with resetting a password after
installation.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Install Ubuntu Hardy from Live CD
2) While installing, create a password you cannot remember
3) Reboot from live CD to change /etc/shadow

1) I use the alternate CD, no posibility of using brightness keys.
2) I get this "dimness" in the BIOS setup screen so it is no related to
Ubuntu or Drivers

This is interesting, in fact I have doubts that the video driver has anything
to do with it since the screen is dimmed in the BIOS Configuration screen as
well. This machine in particular is acting differently than other using the
intel driver. Can you make sure this is not something wro
