I installed a program called boot-repair and ran it.
This allowed me to tell system to use SDD1 to install grub2 on.
This it did and system is now working fine.
I can now duel boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

I have exactly the same issue. Also, when I mute the sound in my user
session and I lock the session, the sound goes unmuted and around the
60% level.
In my case, the sound levels mod it's instantly, no delay after session
lock.

I had used another theme "Blubuntu" that I wished to remove and it was after
uninstalling Blubuntu that I forced an update of ubuntu-desktop. I'm not sure,

I can confirm that I saw this problem and that the packages supplied by
Stefan sorted out the problems with sound on my machine also (I just
installed all the i386 LUM and LRM packages, though presumably this is

I think that in my case the reason is related to my graphics card currently
being a 9250, and this requires that fglrx is NOT installed.
Removing xorg-driver-fglrx stopped glxinfo from SEG faulting, and it also

Just been googling for other reports on this and have found a workaround that
is good for me:
Remove the USB 2.0 support provided by ehci_hcd:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# rmmod ehci_hcd
Then the copy works (but takes a long time, because USB is now 1.1).

unllkely your CD drive is not MMC-2, and the problem would have showed
