I'm surprised that the kernel favors using video.ko over the vendor
specific options in general, and this makes me wonder if this has
affected any other "special" acpi interfaces other than thinkpad.
Sony has a similar vendor module (sony_acpi) akin to thinkpad_acpi, I

Also affecting my x300. Pre-2.6.27-11 works fine. This is probably
specific to thinkpad-acpi.
Brightness hotkey is recognized, and gnome shows the brightness HUD, but
no changes.
