The following code change fixes the problem with perl 5.10 .1. The above
script now gives this output:
Testing perl version 5.010001
Initially UID = 1020, EUID = 1021
Afterswap UID = 1021, EUID = 1020
After double swap UID = 1020, EUID = 1021

It tests the perl statement
($>, $<) = ($<, $>)
which is documented in perl's perlvar maunal page.

I've just experienced the same problem in SuSe 11.2 and applied the old
fix by editing the $HOME/.kde/share/config/h3brc file to contain the
following:
[K3bExternalEncoderPlugin]
command_Mp3 (Lame)=Mp3 (Lame),mp3,lame -r --bitwidth 16 -b 160 -h --add-id3v2
--tt %t --ta %a --tl %m --ty %y --tc %

'python-gtkmozembed' is missing.

Hi,
ALL!!! the ISPs in Israel require a PPTP dialer.
The only way to not use a PPTP dialer is to buy a router which does the dialing
for you.
This bug is a critical one in Israel as well.
