2020-10-29 Thread David Partridge
To confirm this isn't Bashtop at fault I installed XTerm. Bashtop displays perfectly there as well as in LxTerminal. The issue IMHO is that QTerminal isn't correctly handling monospaced fonts and of course Bashtop relies on correct handling of those for it all to line up correctly. -- You

2020-10-25 Thread David Partridge
I beg your pardon? Did I mention snap? Did I recommend QTerminal - no I didn't. I don't think you can say that bashtop is at fault here, as it's the new bow of the block (QTerminal) that display the output incorrectly, while established terminal windows work fine. David -- You received this

I changed fonts in QTerminal to use the same monospaced font as LxTerminal (I think). The output was still incorrect, but differently so. David -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1901313

Hi Chris, Absolutely agreed, I don't think it's Ubuntu per se - strictly a QTerminal problem I think as LxTerminal displays correctly. David -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1901313

There must be something in the code that is causing this. I confirm that neither the EV SUDO_PROMPT, nor passprompt_override in /etc/sudoers are set. While I agree that it's purely cosmetic, it would be nice to have it fixed (pretty please). Cheers Dave -- You received this bug notification

Public bug reported: I have small script that invokes another shell script as root thus: #!/bin/bash echo "mypass" | sudo -p '' -S /usr/StorMan/StorMan.sh when running in 16.04 LTS this didn't display a password prompt which I understand to be correct behaviour. Since upgrading to 18.04.1 LTS
