Same problem here with ubuntu 16.06 and Kdenlive version 16.08.1
after "sudo apt-get install libqt5libqgtk2" problem persists
however problem solved after "sudo apt-get install kde-runtime", which
automatically installed the following packages (167MB of space):
docbook-xsl fonts-dejavu

This was already fixed 5 months ago, why didn't you update the packet
In my case, just hitting enter key after ubuntu startup sounds and the
black screen appears makes the lightdm greeter show up, (and the startup
sounds again :b )

initscripts installation reported that file /etc/init.d/ondemand did not
exist
saw existing found /etc/init.d/ondemand.bak
copied /etc/init.d/ondemand.bak to /etc/init.d/ondemand
performed update again and this time initscripts installed
