I'm using Ubuntu 10.10, ami-af7e2eea in us-west-1 on c1.xlarge.
I have 8 x 128GB EBS volumes in a RAID10 array using mdadm.
After a while /dev/md0 freezes and load shoots up from <5 to >300-400.
Any attempts to interrogate the mounted filesystem hang and are

ridiculous amount of the IO and just slows the machine way down. I'm not

Yes Mythor, I have libkrosspython0 installed, all the same if these
extra packages are required then the packaging dependency structure
should have handled all this rather than us having to play guess the
dependency games. I shall be building a virtual fresh install tomorrow

When I add a service file to my /etc/avahi/services/ folder dolphin does not
display them with the zeroconf:/ kio.
I automatically thought that I had done something wrong even though the service
files worked in the last release fine so I tested them against the avahi-browse
I get the segmentation fault when running the aticonfig tool too.
It appears to be unnecessary anyway with the new version of X detecting
the drivers as as-soon as I install the ati driver it automatically gets
loaded at start time.
It's just a pity it doesn't work.

Does this mean you guys can get Dolphin/Konqueror to view any smb:/
shares?
I first of all thought that it was my smb.conf file but it worked fine viewing
shares through Windows
I thought that was interesting and it also seems to work vice versa
but not linux to linux or to be more specific KDE4

shutdown instead of serializing to RAM but I'm not too sure.

only the file manager that uses the associations, file associations are
still needed in Konqueror for using the web part, say if you click on a

Many thanks Don, I have edited my Xorg.conf file to correct already (I
am from Debian way back when editing Xorg was a necessity).
It appears this fault may eventually be cured simply by the fact that
set up will be done by X in future if Sebastian Kuegler's blog post is
anything to go by:

I thought about using knetworkmanager but seeing as I would have to set
up the network manually in the interfaces file to install
