I ++THINK++ I have found a fix. open /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf comment out the line "blacklist usbmouse" (change to "#blacklist usbmouse") or remove that line altogether and reboot/shut down and cold boot and see if this fixes the issue. Seemed to work for my dad's pc.If so, i be

The system wide file /etc/cups/lpoptions does not exist on my system? I notice that the file /etc/cups/printers.conf (attached) defines the default printer correctly. The file ~/.cups/lpoptions (also attached) defines the incorrect printer to be default. Removing this last file corrects the problem
