I have the same problem on 2 of 3 my servers. Hardware configuration is the same on them all:
Intel® Core™ i7-2600 Quadcore incl. Hyper-Threading Technology RAM32 GB DDR3 RAMHard disks2 x 3 TB SATA 6 Gb/s HDD 7200 rpm (Software-RAID 1) Ubuntu 12.04, upgraded all the packages. Updated the kernel: uname -r 3.9.0-030900-generic As it runs on my servers, no X-server is used. It hangs and I cannot get to the servers through SSH. One of the servers runs Mysql , another one only my Ruby On Rails application.
