installation takes a significantly long time(~25 seconds on my machine)
with Synaptic not responding during that time.

I'd like to add than when I sudo umount'ed(after automounting) then sudo
mount'ed the flash again manually the transfer speed went back to normal

I'm using Kubuntu 3.5.9 fully updated.
2 weeks ago, my USB2 flash drive(actually a card-reader + an MMC) used
to work properly, reading/writing at almost 8 Mb/s, after some recent
upgrades, not sure which, the writing speed decreased to something in
the range 32-50 KB/s which
I noticed that on my other machine(a laptop) where the bug is
reproducible, gtk-qt-engine is not installed so it may not be a gtk-qt-
engine bug, please see the image attached

I'd like to mention that I faced a lot of problems because the dbus address env
variable wasn't defined, my setup is as follows:
I installed Ubuntu Gutsy on my machine then I upgraded to Hardy, everything was
going fine then I switched to KDE and made it the default, note that I had
dbus-x11 alr
I mentioned this already, I couldn't reproduce the bug when using GNOME.

update or an upgrade and then the application closes, next time the app
starts normally.
