tested with 3.3-rc3, the bug is still there
this may be interesting: as I see in `kern.log', the kernel complains
about
[drm:intel_framebuffer_init] *ERROR* unsupported pixel format

The screen starts to flicker already at boot time during boot splash.
The flickering stays persistent also after X11 have been started. The
bug was introduced in 3.2.0. The 3.0.0 kernel works normal. Cause
unknown.
