Now, after NetBeans 6.9 was released (which is not affected with the
described problem), this bug has not any importance no more.

I have found that the problem is only related to the Netbeans
distributions packaged by Sun. I have also installed the same Netbeans
6.8 from Ubuntu deb packages side by side with Sun's Netbeans and have
seen that it accepts cyrillic input well.
