Same problem on an IB8000 Atom Braswell board using 16.04.
Also shows the two ports when checking with acpidump, but the bionic OEM kernel
mentioned here did not fix it when installed on my 16.04. It booted fine but no
ttyS or ttyHS...
What really did the trick was the Debian 4.16.0-2 mentioned
Same here.

@Fabian: Thanks for the explanation.
@Jonathan: Same question as Atanas: Did this model ever work?
I never got it to work on any Ubuntu version and the fprint wiki always stated
that it is not supported...

Is this really fixed?
I installed the latest packages available from the PPA as mentioned.
And I see the device on the lsusb list:
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 08ff:2810 AuthenTec, Inc. AES2810
But fprint_demo still reports Status: No devices found.

Had the same problem on my Jaunty 64bit.
Solved it using the instructions above with a few changes:
For Jaunty it is:
$ apt-get remove flashplugin-installer
and I also for some reason had to remove:
$ apt-get remove konqueror-nsplugins
also adobe has a new 64 bit alpha version out:
$ wget
Never mind my last sentence...
I don't get the segfaults or grey sqaures anymore, but closing a youtube tab
freezes firefox completely.
And the sound worked at first, but now it's gone again...
So this does not seem to be the solution for me!

[MASTER] Flash player doesn't work properly on
I just upgraded today from Gutsy to Hardy and experienced the same problem.
Adding these two lines to my mouse section in the xorg.conf fixed it for me:
Option SendCoreEvents true
Option CorePointer

[Hardy] External mouse on laptop will only double-click
Same problem on my Samsung X60p. No sound after suspend, but I could get
it back by reloading snd_hda_intel:
# modprobe -r snd_hda_intel
# modprobe snd_hda_intel
Give it a try!
But 2.6.22-10 has introduced some more sound issues, which are discussed
in other bug reports...
--
sound does not
I could actually automate this process very easily by blacklisting the
snd_hda_intel module in
/etc/hibernate/blacklisted-modules
or if you are using acpi add the snd_hda_intel to the MODULES line in
/etc/default/acpi-support

sound does not resume with 2.6.22-10-generic
So, for me the solution to this whole problem was to compile ALSA from the
current snapshot source.
Namely:
alsa-driver-hg20070823
alsa-lib-hg20070823
alsa-utils-hg20070816
I just downloaded these three from
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/alsa/snapshot/
compiled and installed the driver with
