I'm seeing this also on my Ubuntu 8.04.1 (Kubuntu) install.
Seems to me this is a pretty critical bug as could result in major data loss.

I've now upgraded to Ubuntu Edgy, so I can't check the old install that I
reported this problem with.

I'm running Kubuntu 6.10 and am seeing the same problem. The system is
up to date, so it should have the header and restricted modules update

both Dapper and Edgy. In Edgy I'm getting that message everytime I
logged in, in Dapper when I had it configured to hibernate on lid down
it would hibernate as soon as I logged in. After that though, it seemed
