Public bug reported:
Compiz crashed while switching through different multi-monitor (laptop +
external screen) setups.
ProblemType: Crash
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04
Package: unity 5.6.0-0ubuntu4
ProcVersion
It seems that dragging the black "primary screen" bar in the multiple
monitor setup has no effect. Can you confirm that also the alt-tab
switcher always appears on the same screen, regardless of the primary
screen (as set by the black bar)?

Hi Ming,
I'm sorry, it's a busy time so I'm afraid I won't be able to (soon)
try to reproduce.
I can certainly send you any logs. Where can I find the 'oops' log? I
don't see anything like that in /var/log
Best,

I uploaded music to a SanDisk Sansa+. When trying to "safely remove" the

I tried the suggestion by David Henningsson (#48) and it didn't make any
difference. I followed the instructions and the package installed

Many people seem to be having problems with snd-hda-intel. A wiki with

I think this bug is related to this one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/418617
It is more detailed and suggests the source of the problem; it also
seems that the bug occurs in many more machines.
The suggested fix there (for a Dell XPS) is to install linux-backports-

I can confirm Pawel's observations. I have the same switching behaviour:
- In (gnome) alsamixer there is a distinction between internal/external/mixed
- In the audio settings applet (I assume this uses pulseaudio?) there is only a
single mic channel.
- If alsamixer is used to switch the input to e

Public bug reported:
Karmic Koala beta does not have a working internal mic out-of-the-box on
a Lenovo X300 (intel hardware).
This bug was also present in Intrepid. However, in Intrepid, adding the
following to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf caused the microphone to
start working:
