On the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animation some animations fail to

Basically this is still happening in that Pidgin still tries to connect
when there is no network. But my own networking is working faster now.
I'll come back if I see this again.

This makes me think that ubuntu-doc should look at adding a glossary to
the documentation for ubuntu, that way searching for 'mount' in Yelp
should include the glossary. The glossary might even deserve a special
status so it always returns a result for relevant searches. I'm

Public bug reported:
I have an NTFS extended partition with the label 'Volume H' which can be
mounted without problems under Intrepid but not under Jaunty. In neither
case is the partition listed in /etc/fstab (because of limitations
caused by the installer bug #)
Under Ubuntu 8.10
I think this is a duplicate of bug #256098 - could someone please mark

Problem persists for Jaunty alternative, alpha 2. Why is the importance
not set to high and why is this bug not marked as a security
vulnerability? I don't have rights to make these changes.

Installer disables security updates when they do not verify at install time
This is also the case with Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty something...) using the
alternative install cd of alpha 2.

I agree with the two previous comments. NTFS is a Microsoft creation,
Linux should not try and treat it 'better' than windows does - this is
not Linux's problem. For the same reason FAT volumes are no longer
checked every time, if windows doesn't do it neither should Linux.
