I am sorry. I tend to agree with others. A lot of us are endearing
folks. And when I say us I mean people already exposed and using a
distro. Only a portion of us though, so the rest will get fed up.

I have a W541 that booted successfully with Ubuntu 15.04. Is there
anything I can do to help those having trouble on this thread? (I didn't
do anything manual, just using the defaults.)

I was able to workaround the issue by modifying /etc/default/grub and
issuing update-grub ( post apt-get upgrade ). I assume it has something
to do with the console settings?

I agree that I expect ruby2.0 to be the only version installed and at
the least the default version.
It appears update-alternatives no longer supports ruby out of the box as
well.

affecting me. Wireless seems fine but wired packets are dropping
inbound. I don't loose link and wireshark is still sending ping to the
gateway ip with no response when this happens. It is inconsistent for
