The bug is present on KDE 3.5.5 of Debian Etch and also in KDE 3.5.6 of Kubuntu

The same problem again with a full updated Kubuntu Feisty version.
I use driver "ati" in xorg, if i set "vesa" driver, the problen doen't happen,
but using always vesa driver is not a solution.

I think the problem is in alsa, alsamixer has not mute option for Master
channel.
Then kmix has not mute option for Master channel.
When i press mute key, it tries to mute Master, by that, sound card does not
mute.

It tries to open using KDE-Su instead of kdesudo in KDE, the problem is that
kdesu is not present in Kubuntu, then it does not open, it is needed to change
the KDE launcher to use kdesudo.

I think i have fixed this issue for Jaunty, and i attach a patch with the fix.
I plan to attach also a patch for Intrepid version soon.

This patch is a fix of this bug for the current stable release 8.10
(intrepid), it could be uploaded to intrepid-updates.
You can sync both new intrepid and jaunty package releases with these patches
applied from my ppa:

Really KDE 4.1 is not very mature, and Kubuntu 8.10 have many issues by this.
Try to not use problematic widgets.

I have tested with synaptic and again with OpenOffice.org-Impress, with
synaptic, no problems, with OpenOffice.org-Impress, the freeze succeeded
again.
