There is another case that is very strange. The suspend mode is not
working, either, since the kernel 4.12 upgrade onwards (in 4.11 it
worked fine).
When I close the lid of my notebook with it turned on, it appears that it
usually goes into suspend mode, but when I open the notebook lid again
