I can confirm that I have the same issue. Sound works fine through
front speakers, as well as the headphone port. Microphone port does not
work. All volumes are maxed, no mute. Tested with Skype, Ekiga, and
GNOME Sound Recorder.
Laptop, Gateway MT6705, STAC 9250 (Intel HDA) using snd-intel-hda
