I got a similar problem, but not sure it's the same. My external USB HDD (Iomega 320GB USB2.0) is automatically mounted on /media/disk-1 at my Ubuntu10.04 startup through /etc/fstab: proc/proc procnodev,noexec,nosuid 0 0 /dev/sda1 / ext4e
