Fsck checks hard disk on battery after x mounts in edgy. In dapper fsck on
battery was disable except if there was a real error but not after x mounts.
Since it can't be canceled it is a very annoying bug.

Bluetooth doesn't work anymore in edgy on my notebook Sony Vaio TX2. To be sure
I have checked this with the Dapper 6.06.1 Live DVD and the Edgy 6.10 Live DVD.
In Dapper it directly finds my mobile phone and I can send data but with Edgy
it doesn't find anything.

I am pretty sure that this is a problem of your xine configs since it works for
me and apparently for the others otherwise there would be more posts.
I would move ~/.xine to ~/xine-backup or something like that and test it
again. Maybe a logout is needed. If this wouldn't help I would purge

It is very weird. On my Laptop with Pentium ULV 1,2 it seems to be fixed
since some weeks but on a 386 installation with AMD64 3000+ it peaks
every 5-8 seconds which results in highest CPU clock all the time
without real load.

It is definitely a kernel issue since it works with my self compiled
kernel but not with the standard 386 one. I haven't tested it with the
generic but I think it has the same problem.

If you add a new user without defining the shell or upgrade from Dapper and
using additional user accounts then the standard one all got /bin/sh instead of
/bin/bash. Then every user has only a $ console instead of the standard

OK, I have checked it. I am using my Kopete configuration files from
Dapper so maybe this could be the reason but I have created a new fresh
user and tested it. For the new user the spell checking button and
context menu entry is grayed out. For my imported Dapper configuration

Hm, sometimes it works and sometimes not but you always have to enable Auto
Spell Check for each Buddy and each time you close and start it again.
But I couldn't explain the grayed out button with new user. If I enable Auto
Spell Checking in context menu it works but the same problem like above.
It is still annoying but I have found/made a workaround. I have changed the
permissions of /proc/acpi/sony/brightness with chmod 666
/proc/acpi/sony/brightness so that every user can change brightness. This has
to be done on every start so /etc/rc.local is a good place for it. If there are

With some little tweaks suspend and hibernate works fine on Dell Inspiron 8200
with Edgy and binary nvidia driver but the only little annoying thing is that
screen gets always locked after resume.

OK, but there have to be an app or a script which starts the Screensaver in
locked mode.
It could be a bug of new Power Manager?! If I Suspend with the Suspend key
screen isn't locked after resume so it is very likely. Should I file a
bug/feature request or not?

Ok, sorry, my fault. I thought extracodecs only consist licensed codecs like
mp3 and co. Since Flac is OpenSource Kubuntu should play it out of the box imho.
So I can confirm that amarok plays flac after installing libxine-extracodecs
and restart amarok/system.
