Noob to Ubuntu... I have a similar problem with a U.S. Robotics USR5637
modem. lsusb and usb-devices both show the device, and dmesg shows it
being recognized, however it does not show up in /dev as ttyACM*.
Running 21.10 on a Raspberry Pi 4. The device works as expected with
20.04.3 LTS also on
Noob/First post ... I have two audio devices in my ASUS P8Z77-V/CORE
I7/EGA GTX 670 system that weren't being recognized and the workaround
that now works every time is to select the recovery mode kernel from
the Grub menu (you need to comment out GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0 in
/etc/default/grub and run
