Public bug reported: Binary package hint: faac
Very long audio files ( > 13 hours, 15 minutes, 21 seconds) encoded by faac do not display correct length information during playback. All files longer than said length show the length as 13:15:21, but continue to play to completion (past the indicated end of the track). This behaviour has been verified on both VLC and an Apple iPod. This is problematic because seeking through the track past the 13:15:21 mark is not possible. Verified on numerous audio files, with the following usage: faac -R 44100 -B 16 -C 1 -w -q 80 --track "1" --genre "Spoken Word" -X --year "2009" --artist "author" --album "title" --title "title" -o "temp.m4b" "temp.pcm" where temp.pcm was created by: mplayer -vc null -vo null -ao pcm:nowaveheader:fast:file=temp.pcm temp.mp3 temp.pcm and temp.mp3 were both verified to have the correct length.
