This happens because "maximus" attempts to maximize the pinentry dialog,
which is not designed to be maximized. As a result, pinentry segfaults,
you never get to enter you passphrase and gpg-agent fails.

When receiving an encrypted email in Thunderbird with Enigmail plugin,
gpg-agent lauches to get the passphrase for the private key.
1) What you expected to happen:
I expect a window to open where I can enter my passphrase.
2) What actually happe
Just ran into this problem myself. Narrowed it down to this:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
zope2.10: PreDepends: zope-common (>= 0.5.49) but it is not going to be

Karmic repositories have version 0.5.46ubuntu1 of zope-common package

I should probably not forgotten to add that this worked fine in Intrepid
and that my user is a member of the audio group. Other than the upgrade
process to Jaunty, there has been no changes on the system
