I'm using Dapper. It looks like it's been fixed in Edgy, thanks.

The HyperSpec entry for code-char [1] reads:
"Returns a character with the code attribute given by code. If no such
character exists and one cannot be created, nil is returned."
On the following code, however, a STREAM-ENCODING-ERROR is signaled
instead of nil being returned

This package is important to me. My laptop is dual boot with Windows
and the whole Dapper partition is encrypted with loop-aes for two
reasons: a) to protect it from misbehaving Windows and b) in case my
laptop is lost or stolen.
At present, loop-aes is the only secure encryption option in Linux.
