In my case it was very difficult to detect what was preventing the
system from starting. It would be very helpful if mountall could give
more information about what is happening.

The problem is in the localize.sh script. It seems that po2html does
not manage correctly the accents in the po file. A work-around is the
usage of HTML codes for special characters [1] in the .po file instead
of the utf-8 encoded characters (e.g. Paacute;xina instead of
Páxina).

I have built the amd64 packages with the patch applied, and it seems the
problem appears again (gnome-panel gets frozen).
In the next hours I will perform some tests (just now I'm far from the
computer with the problem), in order to confirm that the problem is
again esd.
