I unfortunately couldn't reopen this one, presumably due to missing

This also broke my system after and update to the final 13.10 release,
so it doesn't look fixed to me. Probably related to #1233029, as the
solution for me was manually installing 'unity-scope-home'.

Before I speculate on more details about this problem, let me add that
pdecat's persistent fix works fine but requires an additional `update-
initramfs -u -k all` for the option to be set correctly.

@imz: I personally havent't experienced any memory leaks with
indicator-multiload for quite a long time now (even before 12.04). It
definitely seems to be an issue of former times.
Besides, in case you didn't know, the tool is now available in the official
Ubuntu software repositories as well.
@Stefan: See Comment #26 in Bug #951123 – the option is there, but it seems to
suffer from the issue discussed here as well, so doesn't affect GTK smooth
scrolling.

To my surprise, it looks like this is fixed for Oneiric.
I unfortunately can't provide a screenshot and to reproduce you will need at
least two monitors as well as a Natty system, but on Natty it used to behave as
described above: The Unity panel's emulation of the old GNOME2 notification
area
@gdi2k: Even in previous versions, they always appeared on the most left
monitor; never on all monitors.
This is known as Bug #742530 (maybe also Bug #737015), but seems hard to fix.

Dual-monitor setup with Intel graphics.
According to http://askubuntu.com/q/42940 this also happens after waking
up from suspend (not tested by myself).

Looks like nobody really cares about that problem, which I find very annoying
