Possibly users should be warned in some prominent location that if
they're mounting by UUID then leaving an LVM snapshot in place could
result in that being mounted on reboot.
Changing the UUID of the 'real' disk during live operation simply
because it's been snapshotted sounds reasonably insane

I'm pretty sure you're right about the LVM device filter; I figured that
setting the scsi-timeout to 90 seconds (being way longer than the TUR
path checker, which is scheduled every 20 seconds) should be enough to
handle the device failover.

It looks like all the /dev/mapper/mpathX targets, and the remaining 'sd'

the bug status, it's a moot point.
Just to clarify, VLC developers (such as yourself) wouldn't accept a
patch to support GNOME's media-keys-via-dbus
This is not fixed, if only because media keys are not configured by
default, as mentioned in the bug title.
Also, you say If nothing happens there, it simply means another
application uses the same hotkey - the problem is that this other

This affects lots of people who have, I believe NVidia cards and connect
to an external monitor via VGA. There is, however, a patch available.

In order to translate SNMP Objects to oids you need the mib. After you
install your mib in /usr/share/snmp/mibs and restart snmpd:
snmptranslate -m all -Onf -IR MyMIBObject ..works
but
snmptranslate Onf -IR MyMIBObject .. fails
Adding mibs +all to snmpd.conf
Is this going to be fixed for Ubuntu 11.10? It seems odd that the main
software suite, for some, in Ubuntu should be dysfunctional. I have
added a comment to a relevant thread in the Oneiric forum
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1834662)

I am using a Netgear WN111v2 adapter, which detects fine and doesn't
have problems with losing packets (though it does disconnect
occasionally), and registers at full speed (54-130mbps) but actual speed
is like 20kbps (!), sometimes less. It worked flawlessly for me under
Many thanks: incredibly helpful! I have managed to put New Window under
the View menu. I can't find the SplitWindow or Freeze Window anywhere
though - where are they?
Thanks and regards, Martin

Another screen shot showing white blocks on the top bar. On my machine,
the problem seems to affect only one out of four user accounts, although
some similar corruption appears in the unity dash for other users.

Possibly related: the top bar is sometimes totally white. Again, this
affects only one out of four user accounts.
