Testing on the lastest daily kernel iso, the last link you gave me: the
AWUS036NHR did not list AP's with only AES wireless security. Only AP's
that were configured for TKIP. Also I tried to manully conect to AES
secure AP, and it would not connect. perhaps same problem for bug #
1170463.

while trying to fix the unity problem i did up dates. So
3.11.0-031100rc4-generic may have been updated since I loaded it onto my
machine for testing. Maybe an update shut the driver to this wifi
adpater off. At the beginning the problem carried through out the
versons. But as of today - no pow
everytime I run 3.11.0-031100rc4-generic, my unity breaks and I have to do a
unity-reset.
as of right now, under 3.11.0-031100rc4-generic - the AWUS036NHR is not
powering up. It is listed with LSSUB. It is not listed with iwconfig.

Correct. Also, I noticed the lssub log, and none of the other hubs were
powered. Even though this wireless adapter has a second power
connector. I don't know if it is going to be possible to program a
second port to power this thing. But I think that is an ingredient that
would help.

running -v3.11-rc4. side note: gnome-panel did not come up under any
user (permissions, I think). Had to start under terminal.
The AWUS036NHR did not power up. I believe there was no driver for it.
The AWUS036NH worked fine

wavemon and no change in signal. Then I try the older model AWUS036NH,
and I notice the behavior is greatly enhanced. I was thinking hardware
