I can note that I also suffer from the issue when I disable suspending
when closing the laptop lid: Settings Power Manager When laptop
screen is closed: Lock Screen. In this case light-locker still locks
the screen when closing the lit and the laptop display itself is also
shutdown. When

When editing multiple documents in Kile, switching tabs inside Kile by
left clicking on the tab makes the panel disappear and then reappear
(this takes 1 second or so). This is also accompanied by a CPU load
spike (whether due to the crash or the restarting of the panel
I can confirm comment #13, when working with Kile the unity-panel-
service crashes everytime a tab is switched in Kile (i.e. this triggers
the titel in the panel to be updated I suppose). I've tried running
unity in verbose and debug mode, but the unity-panel-service process
crashing doesn't get
So far I can only provide the crash file attached, note that I'm running
plain unity (not 2d as the OP). Running unity 5.20.0 by the way.

Also experiencing problems under ubuntu 10.10 with the recent update.
Managed to downgrade xorg usjng the provided deb package. After running
dpkg-reconfigure fglrx (I use an ati gfx card) Xorg still fails to start. Any
ideas?
