@Bontius, you seem to be using xedgers? The bug report was about a stock
installation.

Forget about my previous post (edit #31). I tried it with generic and
with a previous (3.16) kernel. In both cases, ncsvc still failed at
negotiating the tunnel although the authentication goes through just
fine and the connection applet shows up.

Considering that ubuntu software center is the go to place when new
users are installing packages, this issue should have been resolved a
long time IMHO. The css file proposed by Tommy (post #13) makes the
application usable again. I can't be assumed that new users all use the
light theme...

Weird. I'm using:
3.19.0-18-lowlatency #18-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT Tue May 19 19:02:50 UTC 2015
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
And I still get the problem reported. I'll try the generic kernel, but I have
little hope that the issue is completely resolved.

Hi,
This is a development message which shouldn't be reported that often.
It's not the root cause of issues seen with the LifeCam... just
misleading.
I investigated the issue down to the kernel driver with additional
traces. The set frequency operation at 48 khz goes through just fine,
but the va
Got it sporadically with the KDE desktop over the last weeks. Very
annoying. The bug isn't system wide as other accounts load their
desktops just fine. My account is on KDE.
I'm on Ubuntu 14.10. Dual monitor setup.

at this time though.

Workaround until this gets fixed:
# stop nvidia-persistenced
$ sudo service nvidia-persistenced stop
# completely uninstall failed package and dependencies
$ apt-get remove nvidia-updates-331 nvidia-updates-331-dev
nvidia-updates-331-uvm
# reinstall all three packages
$ apt-get install nvidia-u
My results, based on Bill, Alain and Donovan comments:
1) Keep the default zone apache.conf without the ScriptAlias.
2) Stop both zoneminder and apache2
sudo service apache2 stop
sudo service zoneminder stop
2) Remove any stale sockets from /tmp/zm (default location):
sudo rm -vf /tmp/zm/*.*
3)
Reviewed and commented Ben's pull request. Hope it gets committed and
integrated soon, this is really annoying.

Ah, forgot to mention. For those who know how to read the change that
Ben proposes and would like to fix it locally, you can do so by
correcting the file:
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gtweak/tweaks/tweak_group_startup.py
It works great after that.

Same issue here. I've tried the aptitude way, which I originally thought
as working... but later on in the install the bug remanifested itself. I
have a root-mode ubuntu trusty in the meantime. It seems the last
package that blocks (in a severe way) the dist-upgrade to trusty.

Could fix it by manually purging old version (libebml3) and all packages
