Public bug reported: I wasn't doing something special (using Lyx), I just noticed that my fan was blowing all the time and saw xfwm4 using 50% cpu power in system manager. It did't help restarting x with either logging out or alt- sysrc-k. The machine is a Lenovo X121e, if that's of any use.
