I tried to apply Derek's fix, but I don't have gnome-panel installed, so I couldn't do it. Installing gnome-panel is not very nice, because it has 198 dependencies, but I tried it anyway. object-id-list and toplevel-id-list were empty; each contained only []. I then set them to Derek's settings
