I posted this bug nearly one month ago.
My computer runs apport enabled and all (I get error messages and
propositions to report them for various crashes now...), but I didn't
get any crash from gnome-settings-daemon, although often my GTK theme is
not loaded because gnome-settings-daemon is not
I followed the instructions, read the whole page, enabled apport, restarted
Ubuntu, saw that gnome-settings-daemon was not in the process list and that my
theme was not correctly loaded, and that nothing was in /var/crash.
I previously installed all debug symbols, as I said in my previous post.
I read this webpage and some others about bug reporting and program crashes. I
also installed the debugging symbols packages.
However, these pages only explain how to cope with programs we can launch and
make crash ourselves.
As for my problem, gnome-settings-daemon crashes on login (sometimes,

Got exactly the same problem, with FreeMind as well as its fork FreePlane (Java
programs).
This problem also happens when using a Qt program, namely Qt Creator in my
case, though the problem generally comes after I type Ctrl+F (find and
replace). This also can also happen in temporary windows
