I have the same issue on amd64
This means that I have NO possible way to smoothly enable hardware
opengl acceleration - I'm STUCK on software-3d rendering only. I don't
see much to do on this except dropping the Pre-Dep for nvidia-installer-
cleanup . I've downloaded the .deb of the pre-dep and

report. Hopefully this will help triangulate the exact causes of lat's
instability. Because of this and the bug sighted lat is

Binary package hint: brasero
This is frustrating. I'm attempting to burn a server cd image for
installation and I got errors (only somewhat related to #381392) - but
the real problem is that I SET the speed to 8x for the burn and what
does brasero do? It utterly and
Solved: pulse audio support for flash 10 in firefox 3.5.x (no sound and
crashes)
Tested with: flashplugin-installer/flashplugin-nonfree combo as well as
adobe-flashplayer.
Problem: no matter what you try, firefox plays for a short while with no
sound and freezes/crashes while attempting to play
You might want to try this: I'm on Karma and it worked for me, but it
might also work for you on jaunty.

solved - pulse sound support in flash 10 under firefox 3.5.x (no sound then
freeze/crash)
Public bug reported:
Everything appears to be installed, but the last step has to be done
manually for the plugin to appear in about:plugins
Fix:
cd /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
ln -s /usr/lib/moon/plugin/libmoonplugin-ff3bridge.so libmoonplugin-ff3bridge.so
The installer *SHOULD* do this for me
I've been using this patch for 4 months now with no incident, and I've
heard nothing on this from Ubuntu. In fact I still have to do it
outside the package manager with each kernel release BECAUSE MAINTAINERS
HAVEN'T incorporated the fix into the package. Its a fair bet they
haven't up-streamed
I'm on Jaunty, and when I do this:
/usr/bin/canberra-gtk-play --id=desktop-login
... I get this:
Failed to play sound: Invalid argument
I'm using 0.11-1ubuntu5 version of:
libcanberra0, libcanberra-gtk0, libcanberra-gtk-module, and gnome-
session-canberra.

Actually, you have quite enough to figure this out. From my
description, and the account of comment #3 you know:
1. hostname expects a specific binding to the local hostname in /etc/hosts
2. it is not in /etc/hosts by default, forcing users to add it manually to
resolve the issue.

OK, applied patch to 173.14.20 and it runs equally well. I'm running it
now and no problems so far, other than the choppiness with compiz.
