When running system test, when you speak into the Microphone, I use Mic2
which is on the front of my PC. Mic1 is in the back. In order to get
system test to work we must change the recording device from the sound
properties to Mic2, then amplify by about 50%. Works flawlessly
No longer an issue in Ubuntu 10.4, the card is detected out of the box
with open source drivers. It is also detected at Hardware Drivers and
works fine for normal use and OpenGL apps.
However, once the propitiatory software drivers are enabled, the system
fails to launch compiz and catches a segm

Confirming, tested my Trendnet TFM-560X modem on Jaunty (laptop) and
Karmic (desktop). Jaunty works perfectly, but the karmic computer
sometimes fails to control the wvdial process. A fairly insane work
around which works for me. Reboot computer, open a terminal type sudo
gnome-ppp, enter root pass
Confirming this should be included. If this is not included it is
impossible to dial-out, and hence impossible to connect to the internet.
Network-Manager no longer supports dial-up, but there is a bug report
which is getting "little to no" attention on that here:

of course dial-up. This affects me quite seriously since there is no way
