This bug is still present in fully updated 10.04 64-bit Kubuntu. Any
help on this is desperately needed.
It can be reproduced as follows:
$ mkdir "Apostrophe's a problem"
$ mkdir "Apostrophe's still a problem"
Now type:
$ cd Apostro
and tab-tab-tab to where it should autocomplete or offer opti
I can confirm this as well in fully updated Karmic.

My contribution: I also lost sound (test sound, startup sound, shutdown
sound) after a clean install of Kubuntu 8.04 64-bit (and a restart). Was
unable to get System Settings -> Sound System -> Test Sound to play
until (after perusing forums) I set "Auto-suspend if idle after" to 1

Excellent! I am now able to wirelessly connect to my WEP-encrypted
router with no difficulty. Although it now appears to work well, this
should be a MUCH more automated process when using the (KDE) restricted
driver manager. Hopefully it will be fixed in the 8.04 final release.
