vim+xterm crashes on visual mode
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kde
I installed Hardy a few weeks ago, and I update it on a daily basis.
Today a noticed that KDE applications does not recognize the menu key at all.
All others does. For example:
$ xbindkeys -k
Press combination of keys or/and click under the window.
I agree with Tom Jaegar.
Currently common Java GUI applications simply crash on Hardy.
For a newcomer this is equivalent to Java does not work on Ubuntu, that
sounds especially bad for an LTS distro.

xcb_xlib.c:50: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c-xlib.lock' failed.
I can confirm this on current Hardy.
Both alt or both ctrl keys as layout switcher does not work. Both shift
keys, ctrl+alt or a single key (while pressed) does.
This is a regression, as it worked for me in Feisty and Gutsy.
Apropriate section of xorg.conf:
Section InputDevice

The bug still exists in current Hardy.
How to reproduce: go to Menu - System - Preferences - Keyboard.
On the layout tab add a second layout. Uncheck Separate layout for each
window.
Open Layout Options..., and select a way for Layout switching.
Also make sure that layout switching works for you

Here is an another solution, that does not enable SHMConfig by default!
It is the same idea, except it leaves SHMConfig untouched. But
introduces the option SHMSecureConfig, that is enabled by default, and
makes the configuration available via shared memory although only for
the group specified
changed status to new, because the bug is no longer about enabling
SHMConfig by default
