well.. I kinda cant do that anymore because I reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04
from the CD (along side with openSUSE 11.3) and now the themes in it are
working just fine. I could even use themes that I installed. thanks
anyway. if I have this problem again I'll be sure to ask again because I

I found that when I go into theme>customize in appearance preferences
all the controls are missing except for the one for Ambiance. All the
rest have an image with a big question mark over them. ?

I was looking around in gconf-editor and I came across this: apps
>gnome-settings>gnome-panel. I have no idea what this has to do with
anything but is it some setting of the gnome-panels that is messed up so
the theme doesn't apply itself to it? HELP!!!

I just want to make it clear that everything else works perfectly well
(resolution also) and only the splash screen is screwed up and huge. I

I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my computer and the splash screen was fine.
Then I installed all the software that I really needed and when I
restarted my computer the splash screen (UBUNTU with 5 red dots) was
huge and low resolution. Did some program affect the splash screen, or
I tried to boot my computer again tommorow and now nothing shows up on
the screen. Not even the BIOS HP logo. What the heck is happening? I
removed the hard drive and replaced it with m windows vista hard drive.
That works. I'm writing this from it right now...
