well.. I kinda cant do that anymore because I reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04 from the CD (along side with openSUSE 11.3) and now the themes in it are working just fine. I could even use themes that I installed. thanks anyway. if I have this problem again I'll be sure to ask again because I don't want to

I found that when I go into theme>customize in appearance preferences all the controls are missing except for the one for Ambiance. All the rest have an image with a big question mark over them. ? Here is a screenshot still need help. ** Attachment added: "missing-controls.png"

I was looking around in gconf-editor and I came across this: apps >gnome-settings>gnome-panel. I have no idea what this has to do with anything but is it some setting of the gnome-panels that is messed up so the theme doesn't apply itself to it? HELP!!! -- Ubuntu 10.04 Default Themes aren't work
